Higher Education
Atlantic County is home to a nationally recognized university, a comprehensive community college, a blue ribbon technical high school, and outstanding public, private and charter schools.
Stockton University
Located in Galloway Township, Stockton University is one of America’s most distinctive public universities of the arts, sciences, and professional studies. Ranked at #14 among 2017’s Top Public Regional Universities of the North by U.S. News & World Report, Stockton’s expansion plans serve as an economic driver for the region. Stockton University recently opened its campus in Atlantic City with about 1,000 students and hopes to grow from here.
Atlantic Cape Community College
Expanded its facilities with a new $44 million state-of-the-art Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics building, student center, and a Hospitality Center. Its Casino Career Institute and Academy of Culinary Arts are both critically acclaimed. In addition, the college secured a $2 million Economic Development Administration grant towards the construction of an Aviation Institute which will help provide a trained workforce to further strengthen the aviation industry in the county.
Atlantic County Institute of Technology
Atlantic County Institute of Technology is the most comprehensive technical education facility in Atlantic County. Situated on a 58-acre campus in the Hamilton Business Park in Mays Landing, the Institute of Technology offers students an innovative curriculum, which combines academic instruction, career technical education, internships, and structured work experiences designed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and workplace skills.

Beaches and Boardwalk
Atlantic County offers one of the top destinations for individuals and families on the East Coast. Absecon Island includes the towns of Brigantine, Atlantic City, Ventnor, Margate, and Longport, with 14 miles of pristine beaches along the Atlantic Ocean. These towns are particular favorites among summer visitors and second homeowners. The country’s first boardwalk, built in 1870 in Atlantic City, includes shops, eateries, amusements, casinos, Boardwalk Hall (the former home of the annual Miss America competition), light shows, and seasonal firework displays. Visitors can enjoy riding their bikes or a more relaxing choice of rolling chairs and tram cars to traverse the four-mile wooden walkway, which further extends into Ventnor.

Health Care
AtlantiCare is southeast New Jersey’s largest healthcare provider, delivering cutting-edge technologies and top-notch service. The AtlantiCare Medical Center was recognized with a 2009 Baldrige Award, one of just five organizations in the entire nation to be honored for innovation and performance excellence. In July 2011, the $20.6 million AtlantiCare Health Park at Hammonton was unveiled to the public, which includes a satellite emergency department and an expansion of the offerings at the former William B. Kessler Memorial Hospital.
